The Company

\n

An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a Stores & Logistics Operative to join its operations team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, control and dispatch of materials and products, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the business.

Key Responsibilities

Goods In

\n
    \n
  • Receive and inspect incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
  • \n
  • Check deliveries for quantity, quality and damage discrepancies.
  • \n
  • Accurately record goods received using stock control systems.
  • \n
  • Store materials safely and correctly within designated locations.
  • \n
  • Report any shortages, damages or non-conforming materials.
  • \n
\n

Stores & Inventory Management

\n
    \n
  • Maintain organised and accurate stores locations.
  • \n
  • Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts.
  • \n
  • Update inventory records and stock control systems.
  • \n
  • Issue stock and materials to internal teams as required.
  • \n
  • Ensure stores areas remain clean, organised and safe.
  • \n

Dispatch & Logistics

\n
    \n
  • Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch.
  • \n
  • Verify orders against documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • \n
  • Maintain dispatch records and shipping documentation.
  • \n
  • Liaise with courier and logistics providers where required.
  • \n
  • Load vehicles safely and in line with company procedures.
  • \n

General Duties

  • Operate warehouse and stores equipment safely.
  • \n
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
  • \n
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • \n
  • Assist with wider operational activities when required.
  • \n
  • Follow company policies and procedures at all times.

Skills & Experience Required

\n

Essential

\n
    \n
  • Previous experience within a Stores, Warehouse, Logistics or Inventory position.
  • \n
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • \n
  • Experience using stock control or inventory systems.
  • \n
  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • \n
  • Basic IT skills.
  • \n
\n

Desirable

  • Forklift Truck Licence.
  • \n
  • Experience using ERP or Warehouse Management Systems.
  • \n
  • Understanding of stock control and inventory management principles.
  • \n
  • Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • \n
