Freight Forwarder

Location: BristolSalary: From £34,000 per annumHours: Monday to FridayOur client, a well-established international logistics and shipping specialist, is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder or Export Operator to join their growing team in Bristol.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in ocean freight forwarding, export shipping, international logistics, or removals who enjoys managing shipments from booking through to final delivery while providing exceptional customer service.Working within a specialist export operation, you will take responsibility for coordinating international vehicle shipments worldwide, ensuring a smooth and seamless experience for customers throughout the entire shipping process.Key ResponsibilitiesManage international vehicle export shipments from booking through to final deliveryAct as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the shipment processLiaise with shipping lines and overseas partners to secure bookings and manage schedulesPrepare and issue shipping instructions and Bills of LadingComplete export customs declarations using HMRC CDSMonitor shipment progress and proactively update customersCoordinate with overseas agents regarding customs clearance and final delivery arrangementsProduce customer invoices using internal systemsMaintain accurate shipment records and documentationResolve operational issues quickly and professionally to minimise customer disruptionEssential RequirementsMinimum of 2 years' experience within ocean freight forwarding, export shipping, logistics, or international removalsStrong understanding of ocean export procedures and shipping documentationExcellent communication and customer service skillsHighly organised with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneouslyStrong attention to detail and accuracyGood IT skills, including Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environmentDesirable ExperienceExperience preparing Bills of Lading and shipping instructionsExperience working with shipping lines, NVOCCs, and overseas agentsExperience coordinating FCL and LCL shipmentsKnowledge of customs procedures (although training can be provided)What's on Offer?Salary from £34,000 per annumCompany pension schemeOn-site parkingStable, long-term career opportunity with an established and growing businessFriendly and supportive working environmentOpportunity to develop specialist expertise within international vehicle shipping and export logisticsVaried position offering genuine responsibility and autonomyMonday to Friday working hours with no weekend requirementThe OpportunityThis role offers the chance to oversee the complete shipment lifecycle rather than working on just one aspect of the freight forwarding process.
