Experienced Teaching Assistant Secondary Schools | Mainstream & SEMH Settings Teaching Personnel Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity within secondary education? Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to work across a range of secondary schools, including both mainstream and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) provisions. These rewarding roles offer the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people by providing tailored academic, behavioural and emotional support. The Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will: Support students aged 11-16 within classroom settings Provide one-to-one and small group interventions Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities Promote positive behaviour and help students overcome barriers to learning Support students with additional learning, social, emotional or behavioural needs Build positive and professional relationships with students, staff and parents where appropriate The Ideal Candidate We are looking for candidates who: Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational support role Have experience working with secondary-aged students Have experience supporting students with additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural challenges (desirable) Are patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with young people Possess strong communication and teamwork skills Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Requirements Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service (essential) Right to work in the UK References covering the past two years Relevant education or childcare qualifications are desirable but not essential What Teaching Personnel Offers Competitive weekly pay Flexible and long-term opportunities available Access to free CPD and training courses Dedicated consultant support throughout your placement Opportunities to gain experience across a variety of school settings If you are passionate about supporting young people and have the experience needed to thrive in either mainstream or SEMH secondary schools, we'd love to hear from you.
