Housing Plus Group is seeking to appoint an Accountant – Investment & Growth (Customer Experience) as part of a wider campaign to recruit six key roles into its Finance function.

\n

This is a critical appointment supporting the financial management of asset management and planned programme delivery across Housing Plus Group. The role will help ensure the organisation has the financial insight, controls and business partnering capability required to support customers, colleagues and communities.

\n

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with strong financial reporting, modelling, forecasting and business partnering skills who is looking to develop specialist expertise within asset management, investment planning and long-term financial sustainability.

\n

The successful candidate will work closely with investment and asset management teams, helping budget holders understand financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, support business cases and contribute to transformation projects.

The Role

\n

Reporting to the Finance Manager – Investment & Growth (Customer Experience), the Accountant will play an important role in supporting Housing Plus Group's investment, growth and asset management activities.

\n

The role combines financial management, forecasting, modelling, component accounting, business partnering and investment planning responsibilities, helping to ensure financial decisions are supported by accurate information and robust analysis.

\n

The successful candidate will work closely with Asset Management, Investment & Growth and Finance colleagues to provide insight, challenge and support across a number of strategically important programmes.

\n

Key Areas of Responsibility Will Include:

  • Supporting the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts for the asset management business stream.
  • \n
  • Providing business partnering support to budget holders and operational managers.
  • \n
  • Supporting planned programme delivery through financial analysis and reporting.
  • \n
  • Assisting with budget setting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
  • \n
  • Supporting year-end processes, audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements.
  • \n
  • Providing financial modelling support for investment decisions and strategic planning.
  • \n
  • Supporting component accounting and asset-related financial reporting.
  • \n
  • Preparing information for business cases, service reviews and transformation projects.
  • \n
  • Supporting financial controls, compliance and governance requirements.
  • \n
  • Helping improve data quality, reporting accuracy and financial insight.
  • \n
  • Managing and developing a small team of Assistant Accountants / Finance Business Partners.
  • \n
  • Supporting continuous improvement across systems, processes and reporting.
  • \n

About You

\n

We are looking for a finance professional who can combine strong technical financial capability with excellent stakeholder engagement and analytical skills.

\n

You Will Need To Demonstrate:

    \n
  • A recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA, or a minimum of three years' experience within a senior finance role alongside AAT qualification.
  • \n
  • Strong technical accounting expertise.
  • \n
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • \n
  • Experience of financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting.
  • \n
  • Strong financial reporting and analytical capability.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills.
  • \n
  • Experience of working with large datasets and complex financial information.
  • \n
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
  • \n
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
  • \n
  • The ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • \n

Experience of working with Asset Management teams, planned investment programmes or component accounting would be particularly advantageous.
