Purpose of the Role\nThe Estimating Administrator will support the estimating and bid management function by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates in response to customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs). Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Commercial and Programme teams, the role ensures quotations are delivered on time while supporting the successful transition of new business into production.

Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Prepare and coordinate cost estimates in response to customer RFQs within agreed timescales. \n
- Download, manage and maintain customer RFQ documentation and associated data. \n
- Review customer specifications, technical drawings and terms of supply to identify: \n
- Raw material requirements \n
- Purchased components \n
- Subcontract operations \n
- Manufacturing requirements \n
- Analyse customer information to support accurate costing and pricing. \n
- Work collaboratively with Engineering, Operations and Procurement teams to develop robust and competitive quotations. \n
- Support the development and continuous improvement of estimating processes and best practice. \n
- Assist Commercial and Engineering teams in developing manufacturing strategies for successful bids. \n
- Participate in the handover of successful projects to the Programmes team, ensuring bid assumptions, costing methodology and manufacturing strategies are clearly communicated. \n
- Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation. \n
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business. \n

- Minimum Grade 5 (or equivalent) in GCSE English and Maths. \n
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. \n
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. \n
- Basic understanding of costs, budgets and financial information. \n
- Logical and methodical approach to problem solving. \n
- Confident using and learning new software and business systems. \n
- Self-motivated with a proactive, positive and "can-do" attitude. \n
- Strong communication and organisational skills. \n
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team. \n
- \n
- HNC (or higher) qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline. \n
- Knowledge or experience within aerospace or a similar manufacturing environment. \n
- Previous experience in estimating, commercial support, bid management or business development. \n
