Junior Utility SurveyorMidlandsUpto £35k basic salaryAbout the RoleWe are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Utility Surveyor to join our clients growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen interest in Civil Engineering, Construction, Utilities, Infrastructure, or Surveying who is looking to build a long-term career within the industry.No previous utility surveying experience is required. We will provide on-the-job training, mentoring, and support to help you develop the technical skills, industry knowledge, and professional certifications required to become a successful Utility Surveyor.Working alongside experienced surveyors, you will assist with underground utility mapping and surveying projects across a variety of construction and infrastructure sectors throughout the UK.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Junior Utility Surveyor, you will support senior surveyors and gradually take responsibility for surveying activities, including:Assisting with utility surveys on a variety of sites across the UKLearning how to locate and map underground utilities using specialist surveying equipmentAssisting with the collection, recording, and reporting of survey dataSupporting the production of survey reports, drawings, and client deliverablesFollowing client specifications and industry standards under supervisionWorking closely with survey teams to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on timeMaintaining effective communication with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other stakeholdersAssisting with the management and maintenance of survey equipment and vehiclesFollowing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and all company Health & Safety proceduresEnsuring compliance with relevant industry legislation and best practice, including Health & Safety requirementsParticipating in training, development programmes, and industry certification coursesContributing to continuous improvement initiatives and learning opportunities across the businessSupporting other operational areas of the company as requiredKey RequirementsWe are looking for candidates who are eager to learn and develop a career within utility surveying.Essential Genuine interest in Civil Engineering, Construction, Utilities, Infrastructure, or SurveyingPositive attitude and willingness to learn new skillsStrong work ethic and a reliable approach to workGood communication skills, both written and verbalGood organisational skills and attention to detailBasic IT skills, including Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to work effectively as part of a teamFlexible approach to working hours and travelling when requiredFull UK Driving LicenceTraining & Development Successful candidates will receive:Full on-the-job training from experienced Utility SurveyorsTraining in the use of specialist surveying equipment, including: Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)Electromagnetic Location (EML) equipmentGPS and survey-grade positioning equipmentSupport in achieving industry-recognised surveying qualifications and certificationsOpportunities to progress towards PAS128 utility surveying competencyA structured career pathway within the surveying and geospatial industryDesirable (Not Essential) The following would be advantageous but are not required:Previous experience within construction, utilities, civils, highways, engineering, or site-based rolesAutoCAD experience or an interest in CAD softwareCSCS CardAny surveying, engineering, or construction-related qualificationsExperience working outdoors or on construction sitesIf you are interested in this role, have any questions or wish to apply, then please send us a copy of your CV.Rob Utilise RecruitmentTPBN1_UKTJ
