Transport Manager

Transport ManagerCoventry | £40,000 + Car Allowance | Full-Time

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a leading name in national distribution to find an experienced Transport Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day operations across a busy National Distribution Centre, with genuine scope to influence performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across both warehousing and transport functions.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role. You'll be a key part of the site's management structure, and will step up to cover full site responsibility in the General Manager's absence.

The Role:

• Take ownership of daily operations, ensuring all KPIs and service level targets are consistently met
\n
• Ensure all transport activity is fully compliant with DVSA regulations
\n
• Deputise for the General Manager as required, taking full accountability for the site
\n
• Drive productivity across the team and oversee accurate shift reporting
\n
• Monitor and manage staff performance across shifts
\n
• Ensure full adherence to Warehouse Management System (WMS) procedures
\n
• Manage staffing levels to meet operational need while remaining within budget
\n
• Lead stock investigations and uphold high standards of hygiene and housekeeping
\n

About You:

\n
• Proven experience within a warehouse or wholesale distribution environment - ideally within the chilled/ambient market
\n
• Solid working knowledge of health, safety, and retail compliance legislation
\n
• Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
\n
• Excellent time management
\n
• A track record of delivering strong customer service and satisfaction outcomes
\n
• Confident people leader, able to build teams, delegate effectively, and give clear direction
\n
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
\n
• An attentive, active listener
\n
