Location: RochdaleHours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am–2:00pm (20 hours per week) plus regular overtimeContract: Long-Term
\nWe are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and hardworking Catering Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Rochdale from Tuesday 1st September.
\nThis is an excellent opportunity to become part of a friendly school catering team, helping to provide nutritious meals for students and staff in a busy kitchen environment. With school-friendly hours and regular overtime available, this role is ideal for someone looking for work that fits around childcare or other commitments.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals. \n
- Supporting the kitchen team during busy lunch service. \n
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen. \n
- Washing up and ensuring kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored correctly. \n
- Following food safety procedures and health & hygiene regulations at all times. \n
- Assisting with stock rotation and general kitchen duties as required. \n
- \n
- Previous experience working in the UK food industry is essential. \n
- A Food Hygiene or Food Handling certificate is preferred. \n
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. \n
- A positive attitude with excellent teamwork skills. \n
- A reliable and punctual approach to work. \n
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one. \n
This role is subject to safer recruitment procedures in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance. The successful candidate will be required to:

- Hold or obtain an Enhanced DBS check, including a Children's Barred List check. \n
- Provide satisfactory references covering the previous two years of employment. \n
- Complete all required pre-employment checks, including identity, right to work in the UK, and qualification verification where applicable. \n
- Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. \n

- Long-term role starting Tuesday 1st September. \n
