Position: Charge Nurse for Coronary Care Unit

Location: Lewiston, Maine

Department: Coronary Care Unit

Available Shifts: Day and Night

Compensation: Gross pay ranging from $1,491.84 to $2,067.48 per week, which translates to an hourly rate of $41.44 to $57.43.

Assignment Duration: 12 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality of care, documentation, and adherence to regulations.
• Implement immediate adjustments to care plans to ensure patient safety.
• Conduct rounds with patients and families to improve their experience.
• Act as a resource for patients, families, and staff members.
• Provide direct patient care as necessary to uphold safe staffing levels.
• Support daily operations of the unit and communicate any patient care or safety issues.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and assignments effectively.
• Supervise, mentor, and assess staff performance; assist with performance evaluations.
• Ensure sufficient supplies, equipment functionality, and inventory management.
• Coordinate with various departments to facilitate smooth admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Oversee nursing staff and patient care during the assigned shifts.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training Requirements:

1. Must possess a current and valid RN license in the state.
2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA) required upon hire and must be maintained.
3. Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA) required upon hire and must be maintained.
4. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience in an acute care hospital, specifically in a CCU setting.
5. At least one year of experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital; critical care experience is essential.
6. Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certification must be obtained within six months of hire and maintained.

Our organization offers competitive pay, with an estimated compensation range of $41.44 to $57.43 for this role. This estimate is specific to Maine and has not been adjusted for other locations. The final compensation will be determined at the time of hiring, taking into account various factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
