Job Overview

The Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) in the Cath Lab operates under the guidance of the director or charge person. This role involves monitoring various procedures, including diagnostic and interventional studies related to coronary and peripheral catheterization. The CVT is responsible for ensuring patient safety and assisting as a scrub technician during procedures.

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology
  • OR Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology
  • OR Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Alternative Experience: If educational requirements are not met, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience is necessary.

Additionally, candidates must obtain one of the following certifications within 12 months of employment:

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
  • OR Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
Licensure and Certification
  • Preferred: Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist license with a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
  • OR Preferred: Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license with a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification
  • OR Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (required within 12 months of hire if no applicable degree)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
Special Skills and Additional Requirements
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is essential.
