Gastroenterologist Opportunity in Ohio - $741k base salary + $100k Sign on Bonus + bonuses
Job Description
EXCITING OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to become part of a well-established practice alongside a skilled team of healthcare professionals. Our Nurse Practitioners bring over a decade of experience in gastroenterology. Dr. Jesse Houghton, FACG, has been a vital part of the community since 2012, ensuring that you will have a busy schedule right from the start. The on-call responsibilities are minimal.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
- Option #1: A base salary of $588,376* (50th percentile MGMA for recent graduates) with additional compensation based on experience, guaranteed for two years. This can transition to a wRVU production contract once targets are surpassed.
- Option #2: A base salary of $741,960* (75th percentile MGMA) guaranteed for the first year, after which it will convert to a wRVU production contract. There is potential to earn 90% or more of the MGMA salary with bonuses!
*For those who are not yet board certified, the salary will be adjusted to 5% less, with an increase upon certification.
The two-year contract includes:
- Vacation: 4 weeks plus holidays and sick days (totaling 29 PTO days). An additional 5 days will be granted upon achieving 75th percentile wRVUs.
- CME/Books & Journals: 5 days of PTO and up to $5,000 for continuing education.
- Deferred Compensation: A 457b plan allowing deferral of compensation up to the IRS limit of $23,500 annually before taxes, with no matching contributions.
- Retirement/Savings Plan: A 403b plan enabling deferral of compensation up to the IRS limit of $23,500 annually for those under 50, and $31,000 for those over 50. The organization matches dollar for dollar up to 2% of base salary.
- Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 paid directly to the moving company.
- Malpractice Insurance: Coverage in a claims-made policy, providing $2,000,000 per claim and $6,000,000 aggregate.
- Health Insurance: A small premium paid by the physician, deducted from paychecks.
- Liquidated Damages: A non-compete clause of 70 miles for two years, or liquidated damages equivalent to one year’s salary.
- Bonus Opportunities: Attractive bonus incentives up to 10% of salary.
- Medical School Loan Repayment: Up to $200,000 ($25,000 per year for each year of service commitment).
- Sign-On Bonus: 15% of base salary, capped at $100,000, paid upon signing the contract and forgiven over 2-4 years based on the bonus amount.
- Residency/Fellowship Stipend: Up to $25,000 paid in quarterly installments during the final two years of training.
PRACTICE DETAILS:
- Location: The practice is situated at a single site, the Gastroenterology Associates in Portsmouth, OH.
- The hospital's endoscopy suite is just a two-minute walk from the office.
- Office Hours: The clinical office operates Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Staffing: The team consists of 1 physician, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 1 Service Line Manager, 1 Office Manager, 2 LPNs, and 3 Medical Office Assistants.
- Call Schedule: Call responsibilities are light, with the ability to take calls from home and minimal need for in-person attendance for emergencies.
- Case Load: Expect to perform 10-15 procedures daily in the Endoscopy Suite and see around 30 patients in the clinical office.
- Equipment: The practice is equipped with Olympus scopes and video technology, all monitored for quality. We utilize the new Provation Medical Documentation System for electronic medical records, which integrates with the Olympus system.
- Procedures: Focus on standard gastroenterology procedures.
