Position Overview

We are in search of a Family Medicine trained physician to serve the Southern Bronx community, dividing their time between Westchester Avenue and Southern Boulevard. The ideal candidate should be highly skilled and comfortable in providing care for both pediatric and adult outpatients, including well-child visits.


Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of two to three years of clinical experience in an outpatient environment.

  • Proficient in diagnosing and managing a diverse range of chronic conditions to enhance patient outcomes.

  • Exhibit competency in diagnosis and treatment to uphold high standards of patient care and safety.

  • Adopt a patient-centered approach to ensure a positive experience for patients.

  • Strong communication skills are essential.

  • Interest in Population Health Management is preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient history and conduct physical examinations. Diagnose and provide appropriate treatment, referring patients to specialists when necessary.

  • Utilize quality clinical diagnostic skills in patient care delivery. Review test results and recommend suitable management strategies, including preventive health measures.

  • Prescribe medications and develop ongoing treatment and disease management plans.

  • Deliver relationship-centered care, addressing both psychosocial and physical needs of patients.

  • Gather and document patient information, including medical histories and examination results. Ensure medical records are complete and accurate.

  • Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure comprehensive quality care.

  • Engage in medical staff educational programs and meetings.

Qualifications:

Education, Training, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), or an equivalent foreign degree.

  • Completion of a three-year postgraduate medical training program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine from a U.S. accredited residency.


Relevant Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in outpatient care is essential.

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

  • Must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice in New York State.

  • Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration or eligibility for registration is required.

  • Active Medicare/Medicaid enrollment or eligibility to enroll is necessary.

  • BLS or ACLS certification is required.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are a must. Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office is preferred.
