Job Description
Our organization is in search of a Board-Certified Core Faculty member for the Family Medicine Residency Program, which was established in 2015 and operates within a 116-bed community hospital.
This position is affiliated with the Dr. S. Hughes Melton Family Residency Program, situated at Johnston Memorial Hospital in the charming town of Abingdon, Virginia.
The ideal candidate should be board certified in Family Medicine and possess comprehensive training in full-scope family medicine, demonstrating a willingness to deliver patient care across various environments. A strong dedication to graduate medical education is essential. This is a full-time role that includes the following responsibilities: supervising residents in both clinical and hospital settings, participating in meetings, conducting candidate interviews, developing curriculum, engaging in research, and providing direct patient care while collaborating with residents. The primary emphasis of this role will be on resident education, alongside responsibilities for teaching medical students and overseeing advanced practice providers. Full-spectrum practitioners are particularly sought after.
