Job Summary
We are seeking an Accounting Associate for a contract opportunity in Columbia, SC supporting a public sector finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with hands-on SCEIS Production experience who can step in quickly to assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger functions.
The Accounting Associate will provide short-term parental leave coverage in a structured, professional environment where accuracy, confidentiality, teamwork, and reliability are highly valued. This is a great opportunity to contribute to essential accounting operations, support a collaborative finance team, and potentially be considered for additional opportunities based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger accounting activities.
- Enter, review, and maintain financial data within SCEIS Production accounting modules.
- Assist with daily accounting transactions, financial processing, and documentation.
- Reconcile accounts, research discrepancies, and help resolve accounting issues.
- Support priority finance projects and fill operational gaps as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay: Up to $26.12 per hour.
- Assignment Length: Approximately 4 weeks for parental leave coverage, with potential for additional opportunities based on business needs.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
- Start Date: ASAP.
- Location: Columbia, SC.
