Registered Dietitian (RD)

Our organization is seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) in Cooperstown, NY.

Duties:Evaluate and monitor the nutritional health of residents, provide guidance to medical personnel, and create comprehensive care plans.
Assess the unique nutritional needs of residents, focusing on nutrition support, skin integrity, and significant weight concerns.
Oversee the acquisition of nutritional support supplies and oral supplements in collaboration with external vendors and relevant department heads.
Supervise meal services to ensure adherence to dietary modifications.
Provide education to residents, families, and staff regarding nutrition principles and dietary adjustments.
Regularly review Dietary Care plans for effectiveness to maintain high standards of care.
Participate in weekly meetings with the interdisciplinary team to assess and modify residents’ care plans.
Collaborate closely with the Speech-Language Pathologist to ensure residents with dysphagia receive appropriate mechanically altered diets.
Review all menu modifications to ensure compliance with facility policies and State/Federal regulations.
Daily update diet orders and menu changes in the computer menu software.
Lead and support the dietary team to deliver exceptional care to residents.
Conduct regular audits of areas related to quality nutrition care.
Ensure adherence to regulations and policies regarding weight monitoring.
Engage in daily communication with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care for residents.
Must hold a Registered Dietitian credential.
Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics is required.
Outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities.
Familiarity with relevant state and federal regulations.
Proficient in computer skills, including EMR software and computer-based menu systems.
