Obstetrics/Gynecology

We are seeking a Locum Obstetrician/Gynecologist to begin as soon as possible for ongoing work near Tolar, TX. A Texas medical license is preferred.

• Call Responsibilities: This position is call-only.
• Call Schedule: Anticipate 9-10 call days each month, starting at noon on Friday and concluding at 7 AM on Monday.
• Call Type: Beeper system.
• Practice Environment: Inpatient care.
• Essential Skills Required:
  • Management of low-risk pregnancies
  • Fetal heart rate interpretation (NST/CST/FSE)
  • Level I screening (viability)
  • Amniocentesis
  • Routine vaginal deliveries
  • Low forceps deliveries
  • Decision-making for cesarean sections
  • Handling complicated deliveries
  • Cesarean sections
  • Management of breech presentations
  • Multiple births
  • Placental abruptions
  • VBACs
  • Repair of third and fourth-degree lacerations
  • Laparoscopic procedures (diagnostic/minor only, including tubal ligation)
  • Operative/major procedures (includes diagnostic) such as ectopic pregnancy management, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive laparoscopic surgeries.
• Preferred Skills: Experience with high-risk pregnancies and performing and interpreting OB ultrasounds.
• Average Deliveries: Approximately 630 deliveries per year.
• Required Certifications: NRP certification is mandatory.
• Licensing: Must be licensed in Texas.
• Facility Level: Level 4 Trauma center.
• Electronic Medical Records: Familiarity with Athena/Medhost is preferred.
• Credentialing Timeline: Expect a credentialing process of 30 to 45 days.
• Referral Bonus: A $2000 bonus is available for any referral who completes 160 hours of work.
• Compensation:
  • Competitive rate for weeknight call, with a premium for being called in.
  • Weekend call is compensated at a rate equivalent to 6 regular hours per day when called in.
