Location: Carson, CA 90810
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $22.00 – $24.00/hour DOE

Company Overview / Position Summary

A growing building materials distribution company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Administrator to support daily warehouse and distribution operations. This role serves as a vital link between the office and warehouse, ensuring accurate order processing, inventory management, shipping coordination, and operational documentation. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong administrative and computer skills, and can effectively communicate with warehouse personnel, drivers, vendors, and customers to maintain efficient workflow and on-time deliveries

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily administrative functions supporting warehouse and distribution operations.
  • Process customer orders, purchase orders, shipping documents, and related operational paperwork.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and assist with inventory reconciliation and discrepancy resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records within inventory, ERP, and warehouse management systems.
  • Communicate closely with warehouse personnel regarding order fulfillment, receiving activities, and shipment status updates.
  • Track inbound and outbound shipments and provide timely updates to customers and internal teams.
  • Review invoices, packing slips, bills of lading, and other operational documentation for accuracy.
  • Assist with scheduling deliveries, coordinating transportation, and supporting logistics activities.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping, inventory, and documentation discrepancies.
  • Generate reports, maintain spreadsheets, and update operational data as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance workflow efficiency and inventory accuracy.
  • Perform additional administrative and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse administration, logistics, distribution, inventory control, operations support, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, building materials, construction products, or distribution environment.
  • Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience using ERP, inventory management, or warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with warehouse teams, drivers, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
