Job Description

MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support a leading technology client at their campus in Rancho Cordova, CA. This is a fully onsite position responsible for managing commercial facilities and construction projects from conception through completion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction and facilities project management, with experience working directly with clients and multiple stakeholders. Experience supporting light laboratory, semiconductor, cleanroom, R&D, or critical environments is highly preferred.

\n

This position is initially a contract opportunity with the potential to transition into a contract-to-hire role based on business needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple facilities and construction projects from planning through closeout.
  • \n
  • Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for project stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Oversee projects ranging from approximately $50,000 to $5 million in value.
  • \n
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and internal client teams.
  • \n
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and project execution plans.
  • \n
  • Track project milestones, costs, risks, and deliverables while ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • \n
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Review contractor proposals, change orders, invoices, and project documentation.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and client standards.
  • \n
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • \n
  • Mentor junior project managers when appropriate and provide guidance on complex project issues.
  • \n
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement project management best practices.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in: \n

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Architecture
    • \n
    • Or a related field
    • \n
  • \n
  • 5–7+ years of commercial construction or facilities project management experience.
  • \n
  • Experience managing projects within occupied commercial facilities.
  • \n
  • Proven experience working directly with clients and executive stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, scheduling, budgeting, and project controls.
  • \n
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • \n
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting light laboratories, semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom, or R&D facilities.

  • Experience managing infrastructure and workplace improvement projects.
  • \n
  • Commercial interiors construction experience.
  • \n
  • Experience using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
  • \n
  • Experience managing project budgets, cost reports, contracts, and change orders.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of commercial building systems, construction methods, and applicable building codes.
  • \n
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and modern project management technologies.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
