\nclient that is seeking a Full Stack Developer - Geospatial & 3D datasets in Tempe, AZ (Hybrid/Onsite as applicable). Summary: This person will help build and scale next generation spatial platforms and digital twin systems. This role spans the full technology stack-from modern React and TypeScript front end applications to Node.js backend services and cloud scale spatial databases-delivering secure, high performance, cloud native solutions on Microsoft Azure. This position is ideal for an engineer with an AI native mindset who enjoys tackling complex spatial challenges, working with large and diverse datasets, and transforming advanced geospatial and 3D data (maps, BIM, point clouds, Gaussian splats) into intuitive, mission critical user experiences. What You'll Do:
\nDesign, develop, and maintain robust full stack web applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js
\nBuild secure, scalable API first REST services optimized for spatial queries and high-volume data access
\nDevelop backend services and microservices to process and serve large scale geospatial and 3D datasets
\nModel, query, and optimize geospatial data using PostgreSQL and PostGIS
\nCreate rich, interactive map and visualization experiences using Mapbox or comparable open-source libraries
\nDeploy and operate containerized, cloud native services on Azure
\nOptimize map rendering, load times, and responsiveness for high pressure and emergency driven use cases
\nIntegrate identity and access management (IAM) solutions such as Entra ID to support RBAC and regulatory compliance (ABAC familiarity a plus)
\nSupport ingestion, transformation, and delivery of complex spatial and 3D data pipelines
\nCollaborate closely with product managers, designers, and domain experts to deliver production ready features
\nContinuously explore modern approaches in spatial computing, containerization, and AI enabled workflows
\nRequirements
\nStrong professional experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
\nHands on experience building production applications with React
\nBackend development experience using Node.js
\nSolid experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization or similar relational databases
\nExperience with API first development and building secure, scalable REST APIs
\nExperience with Git based workflows, collaborative development, and GitOps best practices
\nExperience with either Mapbox, GIS or Digital Twin would be ideal; Experience integrating Mapbox or similar web mapping libraries is a plus
\nBackground developing microservices or modular services for spatial or data intensive applications
\nFamiliarity with PostGIS or geospatial data concepts is preferred
\nWorking knowledge of Azure cloud services
\nWorking knowledge of containerization and container deployment
\nUnderstanding of AI fundamentals and how AI driven capabilities are embedded into modern software products
\nCommitment to continuous learning in cloud native and AI native software development
\nNice to Have:
\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins
\nExperience working in large-scale or big data environments
\nExperience with point clouds, Gaussian splats, or other 3D data representations
\nDeeper experience with microservices or service-oriented architecture design at scale
\nFamiliarity with Jira and GitHub tooling (Actions, Codespaces)
\nKnowledge of BIM workflows and formats (e.g., IFC)
\nExposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
\nExposure to web-based 3D rendering or visualization
