Cable Installation Technician
Job Description
We are hiring Installation & Cable Technicians for projects in the Ames and Des Moines, IA area, as well as surrounding states. Some travel is required, and per diem is provided for travel assignments.
Candidates should have at least 6 months of low voltage experience. Individuals with relevant technical training, trade school education, or hands-on coursework will also be considered.
Responsibilities include:
- Installing and terminating Cat6 and coaxial cabling
- Installing data racks, cabinets, and faceplates
- Testing and labeling cables
- Assisting with the installation of cable boxes, modems, and satellite equipment
- Supporting server closet buildouts and network infrastructure setups
- Working both indoors and outdoors at schools, apartment complexes, and other commercial facilities
- Assisting with trenching and directional drilling as needed
- Following direction from project leads and adhering to site safety standards
- Cable installation and routing
- Cable termination
- Low voltage systems
- Cat5/Cat6 cabling
- Punch-downs
- Electrical installation experience
- Wireless access point installation
- Testing and troubleshooting
- Reliable and dependable work ethic
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Eagerness to learn and advance within the industry
- Willingness to travel as needed

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
