A well-established commercial construction firm is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its preconstruction team. This position plays a key role in developing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of commercial and institutional construction projects, with a strong focus on public and hard-bid work.

This position plays a key role in developing accurate and competitive estimates for a variety of commercial and institutional construction projects, with a strong focus on public and hard-bid work.

Responsibilities
- Prepare complete and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Manage multiple bid opportunities simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
- Perform digital quantity takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure scope completeness.
- Solicit, review, and analyze subcontractor and supplier pricing.
- Develop detailed project estimates and bid proposals.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, owners, architects, and design teams during preconstruction.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
- Maintain estimating databases, bid records, and historical cost information.
- Participate in post-bid reviews and project turnover meetings.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred.
- Experience estimating public-sector and hard-bid construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science, or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and bidding procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience with digital takeoff software and estimating systems.
- Experience with earthwork, sitework, or civil quantity takeoffs is highly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Sage/Timberline or comparable estimating software is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional visits to active construction sites.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel locally as needed.
- Stable, respected commercial construction organization with a strong project pipeline.
