Senior Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a rapidly growing organization in North County San Diego to identify a Senior Staff Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain exposure to a dynamic business environment, complex accounting projects, and high-visibility initiatives that directly impact business operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting experience, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting. This role offers significant exposure to month-end close, project accounting, audit preparation, financial reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close activities
  • Perform variance analysis and investigate financial fluctuations
  • Support project-based accounting initiatives, including tracking project costs, analyzing financial performance, and partnering with operational teams
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliations
  • Assist with cash reporting and cash flow analysis
  • Support quarterly reviews and year-end audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and audit support packages
  • Participate in financial statement preparation and reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Assist with technical accounting research and implementation of new accounting standards as needed
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, project managers, and leadership teams to provide financial insights and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and increase efficiencies
  • Assist with special projects related to growth initiatives, system enhancements, and reporting improvements
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience within a publicly traded company environment
  • Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit workpapers
  • Exposure to project accounting, cost accounting, construction accounting, manufacturing accounting, or large-scale operational projects is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively

Pay Details: $38.46 to $44.67 per hour
