Job Summary
A well-established organization in downtown Shreveport, LA is seeking an experienced Accountant - Oil & Gas Exp for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong oil and gas experience, especially in Joint Interest Billing and Revenue Accounting.
The selected candidate will join a stable, collaborative accounting environment where accuracy, communication, and industry knowledge are valued. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with accounting, operations, land, and management teams while supporting key financial processes for oil and gas operations.
This is a strong opportunity for an Oil & Gas Accountant who enjoys detailed reconciliation work, ownership records, revenue distributions, partner billing, and contributing to reliable financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process monthly Joint Interest Billings for operated oil and gas properties.
- Review, allocate, and reconcile lease operating expenses, drilling costs, capital expenditures, and joint account charges.
- Record, reconcile, and distribute oil and gas revenue based on ownership interests and division orders.
- Maintain accurate ownership records, working interest percentages, and division of interest records.
- Process royalty payments, partner distributions, and assist with tax reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $45,000 to $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Location: Downtown Shreveport, LA.
