- Salary Range: $36.00 - $49.50
- Pay Information: This role may qualify for a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000!
The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct ultrasounds in a professional and diagnostic manner. Utilizing cognitive sonographic skills, the individual will identify and document relevant anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images. Candidates may be based at either the Marshfield or Weston campus.
Key responsibilities include:
- Thoroughly understanding the operation of ultrasound equipment and leveraging new technologies.
- Performing a variety of ultrasound examinations.
- Building and maintaining ethical relationships and rapport with patients and staff.
- Upholding high medical ethics and demonstrating self-motivation to enhance knowledge in the field of sonography.
- Exhibiting empathy, compassion, and integrity in all interactions.
- Possessing a solid understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Conducting oneself professionally, even in high-stress situations.
- Assisting with the maintenance of accreditation requirements and processes.
- Understanding age-specific protocols for various tests.
- Coordinating with physicians and healthcare team members, including assisting during invasive procedures when necessary.
- Supervising and training students and medical sonographers as required.
- Reporting equipment service requests as needed.
- Depending on the facility, responsibilities may also include echocardiography.
- Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Imaging program, Allied Health Certificate/Diploma, or at least one year of relevant work experience is preferred.
- Registration in at least one of the following sonography areas is required: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or registry eligible.
- Registry is preferred within two years of hiring.
- If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within six weeks of employment, with re-certification as needed.
- For those providing outreach mobile services, a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required. This may involve passenger flights and occasional overnight stays at assigned locations. Employees must adhere to the organization's driver's license policy and medical guidelines as applicable.
