Are you a data-driven Supply Chain professional with a background in high-tech, semiconductor, or wafer fab manufacturing? Randstad is partnering with a premier leader in advanced sensor technology to recruit a driven Buyer / Planner for their state-of-the-art facility in Fremont, CA.
In this pivotal role, you will keep the heart of our client’s manufacturing operations beating. You’ll be directly responsible for balancing material supply with production demand—ensuring high-precision parts arrive on time while keeping inventory lean. Experience: 3–5+ years in materials planning, purchasing, or production scheduling within high-precision manufacturing (semiconductor, wafer fab, electronics, micro-sensors, or medical device environments preferred).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Technical Skills: Hands-on proficiency with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH); experience with Power BI or visual reporting tools is a plus.
Core Competencies: Outstanding cross-functional communication, analytical problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain composure under tight manufacturing deadlines.
Nice-to-Haves: APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP), familiarity with Lean/Kanban methodology, or experience working under ISO/medical traceability standards.ZPMLSTCM

Responsibilities
MRP & Order Execution: Own the daily MRP/MPS workflow—turning customer forecasts and production schedules into actionable purchase orders and seamless material releases.
Supplier & Flow Management: Proactively track PO status, expedite critical shipments, and partner with suppliers to maintain exceptional On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery performance.
Inventory Optimization: Monitor safety stock levels, min/max thresholds, and reorder points to reduce Excess & Obsolete (E&O) risk, manage Purchase Price Variances (PPV), and lower carrying costs.
NPI & Engineering Support: Collaborate early with Engineering and Quality teams on New Product Introductions, securing long-lead items and ensuring BOM accuracy through revision changes.
Cross-Functional Operations: Drive S&OP materials review meetings, manage non-conforming inventory resolutions, and conduct regular cycle counts to maintain pristine inventory accuracy.
Continuous Improvement: Leverage data analytics to streamline supply chain processes, shorten lead times, and optimize ERP system parameters.
