Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Litigation Support
Manage all phases of the discovery process, including drafting and responding to Interrogatories, Requests for Production, and Requests for Admission.
Coordinate document review, production, and E-Discovery processes utilizing litigation support tools.
Assist attorneys with drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents.
Prepare and file legal documents in state and federal courts, including electronic filings.
Maintain litigation calendars, monitor deadlines, statutes of limitation, hearings, depositions, and court appearances.
Manage and organize electronic client files and case documentation.
Investigation & Research
Conduct factual investigations, including client and witness interviews.
Draft witness declarations and case summaries.
Perform legal research under attorney supervision involving case law, statutes, and procedural rules.
Obtain, review, and summarize medical records, employment records, financial records, and deposition transcripts.
Prepare case status reports and memoranda for attorneys and clients.
Trial Preparation
Assist with all aspects of trial preparation.
Draft exhibit lists, witness lists, and other trial-related documents.
Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, binders, and supporting materials.
Coordinate trial logistics, vendors, and equipment as needed.
Administrative Support
Provide backup support for incoming calls when necessary.
Assist with new client intake and matter setup.
Respond to emails, calls, and other communications in a professional and timely manner.
Maintain and organize electronic client files and correspondence.
Enter and track expenses within the firm's practice management system.
Assist with internal reporting and data analysis using spreadsheets.
Support business development initiatives, including presentation preparation, market research, and related projects.
Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Timekeeping & Billing
Accurately track and record billable and non-billable time on a daily basis.
Meet monthly billing expectations.
Maintain detailed and timely time entries within the firm's practice management software.
Education
Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred but not required.
Experience
Minimum of two years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal.
Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a civil litigation environment.
Experience managing a high-volume caseload preferred.
Technical Skills
Candidates should be proficient with:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets)
Legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
AI-assisted research and productivity tools
Practice management systems such as PracticePanther, Clio, MyCase, or similar platforms
Electronic filing systems and litigation support vendors
