Job Description
Position: Charge Nurse - CCU
Location: Lewiston, Maine
Department: Coronary Care Unit
Available Shifts: Day and Night
Compensation: Weekly gross pay ranging from $1,491.84 to $2,067.48, translating to an hourly rate of $41.44 to $57.43.
Assignment Duration: 12 weeks

- Oversee the quality of care, documentation, and adherence to regulations.
- Implement immediate adjustments to care plans to ensure patient safety.
- Conduct rounds with patients and families to improve their experience.
- Act as a resource for patients, families, and team members.
- Provide direct patient care as necessary to maintain safe staffing levels.
- Support daily operations of the unit and communicate any patient care or safety issues.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and assignments effectively.
- Supervise, mentor, and assess staff performance; assist in performance management.
- Ensure adequate supplies, equipment functionality, and inventory management.
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate smooth admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Oversee nursing staff and patient care during assigned shifts.
Education, Experience, and Training:
- Valid and current RN license in the state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire and maintenance thereafter.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire and maintenance thereafter.
- At least one year of supervisory experience in an acute care hospital or CCU setting is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience as a staff nurse in an acute care hospital, specifically in a Critical Care environment.
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certification to be obtained within six months of hire and maintained thereafter.
Our organization provides competitive pay, with an estimated compensation range for this role between $41.44 and $57.43. This estimate is specific to Maine and has not been adjusted for other locations. The precise starting salary will be determined during the hiring process, taking into account various factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
