The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, experience preparing financial statements, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. This role offers visibility across the organization and the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting business operations.
What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for two business entities
- Own the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
- Support month-end and year-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Analyze account activity and investigate variances to identify trends and opportunities
- Reconcile accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other key balance sheet accounts
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects
- Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures
- Partner with departments across the organization to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and strengthen internal controls
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses for leadership
- Assist with special projects and additional accounting initiatives as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience preparing financial statements
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
- Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience accounting for multiple entities
- ERP or large accounting software experience
- Experience supporting audits and process improvement initiatives
Salary Range: $89,000 - $98,000 annually
