Senior Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected and growing Concord, CA organization to hire a Senior Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working hands-on with financial reporting, reconciliations, and the month-end close process while contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, experience preparing financial statements, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. This role offers visibility across the organization and the opportunity to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting business operations.

What You'll Do
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for two business entities
  • Own the preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Analyze account activity and investigate variances to identify trends and opportunities
  • Reconcile accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other key balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects
  • Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies and procedures
  • Partner with departments across the organization to resolve accounting issues and improve processes
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and strengthen internal controls
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses for leadership
  • Assist with special projects and additional accounting initiatives as needed
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience preparing financial statements
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
  • Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliations and bank reconciliations
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience accounting for multiple entities
  • ERP or large accounting software experience
  • Experience supporting audits and process improvement initiatives
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $89,000 - $98,000 annually
