\nJoin a well-established Infectious Disease team consisting of 3 physicians and 2 advanced practice providers in a dynamic, high-acuity healthcare setting in North Carolina's capital city.
\nPractice Highlights

Diverse mix of inpatient and outpatient Infectious Disease care

Providers manage approximately 12-20 inpatients daily
\n - \n
Dedicated weekly clinic day, typically seeing 7 patients, with additional clinic sessions available based on patient volume

Collaborative team environment with strong APP support
\n
Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Shared weekend coverage with the physician team
\n - \n
Post-call recovery time provided following weekend coverage

Teaching & Academic Opportunities

Work with rotating medical students

Participate in fellow case conferences

Qualifications

This is an excellent opportunity for an Infectious Disease physician seeking a broad, intellectually stimulating practice with a strong clinical team and access to academic and teaching opportunities in the vibrant Raleigh, North Carolina area.
\nResponsibilities

Provides professional medical services to patients, both in-person and in a virtual setting.
\n - \n
Exercises independent professional judgment in the care and treatment of patients.
\n - \n
Orders and prescribes medical treatment, diagnostic testing, nursing care and other health and medical services. Prescribes medically appropriate pharmaceuticals.
\n - \n
Consults and counsels with patients and families. Provides health and medical education to patients and families.
\n - \n
Refers patients as needed to appropriate medical specialists and other health care professionals to ensure appropriate multidisciplinary care is provided.
\n - \n
Documents medical and clinical care in the patient's medical record. Assigns the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to permit third-party insurance billing.
\n - \n
Supervises other medical professionals.
\n - \n
Adheres to the principles of medical ethics.

\nFounded in 1894, UNC REX Healthcare (a member of UNC Health Care) is a private, not-for-profit health care system that joined UNC Health Care in 2000. In addition to a 660-bed facility in Raleigh, UNC Rex also offers a range of health care services at locations across Wake County. These include 5 wellness centers, 6 suburban campuses, freestanding outpatient diagnostic urgent care and surgery centers, and 2 skilled nursing facilities focusing on rehabilitation and long-term nursing care.

Education Requirements:
\n ? Meeting the Board Certification in Infectious Disease required. Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
\n ? Board Certified Infectious Diseases
\n ? DEA; BLS; MD/DO, NCMB
Professional Experience Requirements:
\n ? Prefer prior inpatient experience.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
\n ? Language Skills: Should be able to communicate proficiently in English.

\nHigh-level quantitative and qualitative reason skills are essential to diagnosis medical and clinical issues presented by patients.
