The Technical Project Manager leads high-stakes fuel system projects from underground storage tanks to industrial fuel handling and mission-critical monitoring systems, ensuring compliance, precision, and zero-downtime execution. \nSalary Range: $80,000 $100,000 / Year DOE
\nFuel Systems Technical Project Manager Responsibilities:
\nLead turnkey fuel system projects from planning through commissioning and closeout
\nVerify system designs: tanks, pumps, piping, filtration, dispensers, controls
\nConduct onsite visits for quality checks, milestone verification, and issue resolution
\nManage permitting, compliance documentation, and regulatory priorities
\nInterpret P&IDs, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accurate installation
\nTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software system issues
\nOversee testing, calibration, and commissioning activities
\nCreate and maintain project schedules with labor and equipment plans
\nMonitor progress, change orders, daily reports, and productivity metrics
\nWork with purchasing to source pumps, controls, sensors, piping, and fittings
\nValidate structural and material submittals to meet NFPA, EPA, UL, and API compliance
\nMaintain RFIs, MOPs, JHAs, and closeout packages
\nServe as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders
\nTrack budgets, cost exposure, and revenue forecasting
\nEnforce safety standards and site compliance
\nFuel Systems Technical Project Manager Requirements:
\n2+ years of technical project management experience involving fuel systems
\nDeep working knowledge of tank systems, pumps, valves, piping, and leak detection
\nAbility to read and apply engineering drawings, P&IDs, and system schematics
\nProven success leading site crews, subcontractors, and vendors
\nStrong cost control and scheduling skills
\nSelf-driven, resourceful, and comfortable with real-time field decisions
\nExperience with Salesforce preferred
\nFamiliarity with NFPA 30, API, UL, PEI RP1200, EPA fuel regulations preferred
\nEstimating experience preferred
