Machinist
Job Description
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor manual and CNC lathes to machine precision components.
Load and unload raw materials and finished parts using appropriate fixtures and tooling.
Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and minor CNC program edits as required.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T specifications, and work instructions.
Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot machining issues to maintain productivity and quality.
Perform routine machine maintenance checks and report equipment concerns.
Maintain accurate production and quality records.
Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Ensure components meet quality and dimensional specifications.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
Minimum 3 years of manual lathe machining experience.
Experience operating CNC lathes.
Live tooling experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Experience using precision measuring equipment, including analog and digital micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
Experience performing machine setups, tooling changes, and quality inspections.
Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Overhead crane experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods while operating machinery.
Manual dexterity to safely operate machining equipment and precision measuring instruments.
