Position HighlightsLocated on the picturesque southeastern coast of Massachusetts, we are looking for an Obstetrician/Gynecologist to join our OB/GYN division as an OB Laborist. This role is crucial to our team, which includes 7 full-time OBGYN physicians, 2 gynecologists, and 7 Certified Nurse Midwives. We are expanding our OB Laborist program to enhance work/life balance and to better serve our community with our commitment to best practices.
Our OB Laborists collaborate closely with providers to ensure a seamless experience for patients and their families throughout the perinatal journey.
The OB Laborists will primarily work at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, MA, with plans to extend services to Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA, in the near future. Both hospitals are designated as Level II Maternity Centers, featuring Level II nursery care and the first special care nursery in New England with combined mother/baby rooms. The OB Laborists will focus solely on triage and inpatient care, with no outpatient responsibilities. The contracted OB Laborist is expected to fulfill a minimum of 12 to 24-hour call shifts monthly, as outlined in the contract. Typically, a part-time OB Laborist covers 24 hours weekly, while a full-time OB Laborist provides 48 hours of call coverage each week.

- Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology

- 24/7 Maternal Fetal Medicine consultative/support/transfer services available with a renowned hospital in Providence, Rhode Island
- On-site Gynecologic Oncology Program led by a distinguished physician, with 24/7 consultative/support/transfer services
- Urogynecology consultative/support/transfer and co-management for both outpatient and inpatient care
- Opportunity to engage in scheduled OBGYN educational seminars and M&M conferences within the organization
