Medical Receptionist

Are you experienced with referrals, authorizations, and patient coordination? We're looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team and play a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely specialty care and diagnostic services.

What You'll Do

• Process specialty and diagnostic referrals while coordinating with physicians, specialists, insurance plans, and diagnostic providers.
• Schedule appointments and communicate important referral details to patients.
• Educate patients on referral requirements, appointment details, and next steps in their care.
• Track referral statuses and maintain accurate documentation to ensure timely follow-up.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, specialists, and insurance companies.
• Verify insurance information and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
• Work closely with physicians and office staff to gather medical records and supporting documentation.
• Maintain patient records, referral logs, and correspondence in compliance with organizational standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of referral and/or authorization experience (required)
• Bilingual Spanish
• Experience working with IPA/HMO health plans
• Strong understanding of medical terminology
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT coding
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Administrative and organizational experience



Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Cerner

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
