Job Description

Blueprint Advanced Manufacturing (BAM)-Denver, CO

CNC Machine Operator/Setup Machinist

Swing Shift | Mill or Lathe

Full-Time | On-Site | Denver, CO

Build Precision Parts That Matter Founded in 1969, Blueprint Advanced Manufacturing (BAM) is a Denver-based precision and production machining company with 50+ years of American manufacturing heritage.

We serve aerospace, defense, industrial, and commercial customers and hold ourselves to demanding quality standards —ISO 9001 certified, with AS9100 certification in progress for completion by end of 2026.

We partner with Pickens Technical College and the Rocky Mountain Tool & Machining Association (RMTMA) to develop the next generation of manufacturing professionals.

About the Role

We are hiring for our swing shift (11:30 AM – 10:00 PM) and are open to a range of skill levels — from CNC machine operators with some experience looking to grow into setup work, to experienced setup machinists ready to own their jobs. You may be placed on milling or turning equipment depending on your experience and shop needs.

Where you land in the pay range is determined by what you can do on day one. Operators run production on machines that are already set up and are developing their setup skills. Setup machinists take a job from print, get it set up in tolerance, and run it with ownership and accountability.

Tell us honestly where you are — we hire for aptitude and attitude, and we invest in people who want to grow.

OUR EQUIPMENT

You will operate and/or set up industry-standard CNC equipment across our mill and lathe departments. Our lineup includes:

  • DMG Mori
  • Okuma
  • Doosan
  • Tsugami
  • Haas
  • Control platforms in use include Fanuc, Okuma OSP, Selos, and Siemens.

What You'll Do

  • Operate CNC mills or lathes to run production jobs, holding tolerance and maintaining quality
  • Perform in-process inspection and verify parts meet print requirements
  • Set up jobs from print, tooling lists, and work instructions (setup level)
  • Load programs, set offsets and work coordinates, and dial in first articles (setup level)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Communicate clearly with leads and quality on job status and issues

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • A strong work ethic and a reliable, accountable attitude — you show up and follow through
  • Basic shop math and the ability to read a tape, caliper, and micrometer
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and grow your skills
  • Operator level: some prior CNC machine operating experience required, plus the aptitude and drive to grow into setup work
  • Setup level: demonstrated ability to set up and run CNC mills or lathes independently

Preferred (not required):

  • Experience on DMG Mori, Okuma, Doosan, Tsugami, or Haas equipment
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Okuma OSP, Selos, or Siemens controls
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
  • Experience in an ISO 9001 or AS9100-certified environment
  • Graduates of advanced manufacturing programs (e.g., Pickens Technical College) are encouraged to apply

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $20–$31/hr depending on skill level and experience (operator to setup machinist)
  • Shift Differential: Additional $3.00/hr for all hours worked after 5:00 PM
  • Schedule: Swing shift, Monday–Thursday, 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM; overtime available when workload allows
  • Health benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Life insurance: Employer-provided at no cost
  • Retirement plan
  • PTO: Paid time off and company holidays
  • Growth: Active investment in training — clear path from operator to setup machinist
