About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced payroll professional to join a growing organization. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in high-volume, multi-state payroll processing who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and ensuring payroll accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Process and oversee large-volume, multi-state payroll operations.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of payroll specialists.
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Review payroll data, wage calculations, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and employee records.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries.
- Maintain payroll records and prepare payroll-related reports.
- Partner with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with year-end processing, audits, and payroll tax reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies.
- Associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2+ years of payroll experience in a dedicated payroll environment.
- Experience processing large-volume, multi-state payroll required.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience managing payroll staff highly preferred.
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- High-volume payroll processing for mid-sized to large organizations.
- Supervising or mentoring payroll specialists.
- Payroll tax filings, audits, and reconciliations.
- Continuous process improvement and payroll system enhancements.
