We are seeking a temporary Pharmacist to assist with intricate pharmacy initiatives across various locations.
Job Responsibilities- Examine prescriptions for accuracy, determine necessary ingredients, and assess their appropriateness.
- Offer guidance and information on drug interactions, side effects, dosages, and proper medication storage.
- In a retail or community pharmacy environment, interpret and dispense both prescription and over-the-counter medications to patients.
- Address prescription-related concerns and provide recommendations to healthcare providers regarding medication selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
- Advise patients on their prescriptions, covering administration methods, potential side effects, expected outcomes, storage, and any inquiries they may have.
- Monitor patient health and progress in relation to their drug therapies.
- Adapt to and utilize new technologies as the pharmacy field evolves.
- Supervise pharmacy staff and support personnel.
- In a medical center or institutional context, review provider orders, supply drug information, assist in problem resolution, and deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical care.
- Perform tasks such as unit dose dispensing, IV admixtures, outpatient prescriptions, navigating electronic medical records, compounding, and managing automated dispensing systems.
- Utilize age-specific patient information to evaluate the pharmaceutical needs of individuals across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Adhere to all relevant regulations and standards governing pharmacy practice.
- May serve as a shift supervisor under the guidance of department managers.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
- For retail/community pharmacy: Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with comprehensive knowledge of drugs and their effects, as well as familiarity with state and local regulations.
- For medical center or institutional pharmacy: Must also be a graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with similar knowledge and experience; hospital experience or residency is preferred.
- Must hold a valid license in good standing from the State Board of Pharmacy in the relevant state(s) and/or possess multi-state licensure as required for the position.
