Senior Quality Engineer Assurance

Our defence client in Barrow is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges and delivering excellence. Your expertise in quality assurance will help shape some of the UK's most advanced defence engineering.Core DutiesWork as a fully contributory member of the Quality teamResponsible for demonstrating SHE and responsible business behavioursUndertake routine Quality Assurance activities in their related areaUndertake non-routine and or complex Quality Assurance activities in their related area with minimal supervisionManage own developmentAble to access, have a clear understanding of and develop the local Management System documentation e.g. policies, procedures, workmanship standards, risk assessments and processes in their related areaLiaise / interface with appropriate areas of the business and build effective relationshipsResponsible for conducting internal auditsResponsible for supporting non-conformances managementResponsible for supporting Quality investigationsThe ability to analyse data effectively resulting in themes and corrective actionsSupport requirements relating to certification activitiesUse of Company computer systems and software as appropriateThe ability to articulate and deliver Quality objectivesThe ability to contribute in team meetings and working groupsThe ability to produce written reports and presentations ensuring accuracy and clarity of meaningSupport the delivery of results via continuous improvement activitiesKnowledge, Skills and Qualifications• Understanding and application of ISO 9001/ EN9100 standards• Understanding of Business Management Systems, the Operational Framework and Operational Assurance process• Awareness of product safety requirements• Understand the importance of cross functional integration• Export requirements knowledge (for example International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)) (where applicable)Skills:• The ability to interpret specifications, procedures and contract requirements• Working knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies Fishbone, 5 Why, relationship diagrams, six sigma etc. gathering and analysing evidence cross functionally• Effective action management and verification• Effective stakeholder managementQualifications:• HNC qualified in an appropriate technical discipline or equivalent Quality experiencePlease note that in order to be considered for this opportunity you will need to be eligible for SC (Secret Level) UK Security Clearance.
