Job Description

The Real Estate Investment Director is a hands-on role that is responsible for the active management of an international portfolio of real estate assets. The role spans the full asset management lifecycle from acquisition through to disposal and requires strong cross-disciplinary capability across technical, financial, legal, and administrative functions.

Real Estate Portfolio & Asset Management

    \n
  • Oversee the performance of a portfolio of international real estate assets in accordance with Investment Committee strategic objectives
  • \n
  • Manage assets both directly (in-house) and through local asset management teams, with clear accountability in both models
  • \n
  • Set and monitor asset-level business plans, KPIs, and reporting frameworks
  • \n
  • Lead or coordinate asset disposals and major capex decisions
  • \n
  • Source, evaluate and underwrite new investment opportunities and prepare Investment Committee presentations
  • \n

Technical Management

\n
    \n
  • Oversee property and facility management teams and major works across the portfolio
  • \n
  • Engage and manage technical consultants, surveyors, and project managers where required
  • \n
  • Ensure assets meet relevant regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • \n
  • Maintain compliance with local planning, zoning requirements
  • \n

Financial Management

  • Monitor and manage asset-level income, expenditure, and cash flow
  • \n
  • Oversee preparation of annual accounts, tax returns, VAT returns and other fiscal responsibilities
  • \n
  • Coordinate with finance teams on budgeting, forecasting, and investor reporting
  • \n
  • Support investment analysis and underwriting for acquisitions and disposals
  • \n
  • Follow internal procurement policies on procurement
  • \n

Legal & Compliance

    \n
  • Navigate complex lease structures, ownership vehicles, and regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions
  • \n
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and ensure contractual obligations are met
  • \n
\n

Stakeholder Management

\n
    \n
  • Manage relationships with local asset management teams, JV partners, lenders, and advisors
  • \n
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on asset-level matters
  • \n
  • Contribute to investor reporting and board-level updates as required
  • \n
  • Adherence to the FO work ethics and culture
  • \n
  • Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Legal and other divisions of the FO
  • \n

Skills & Experience

\n
    \n
  • Significant experience in commercial real estate asset management, with exposure to international markets
  • \n
  • Demonstrable ability to manage assets across multiple disciplines without relying on a single specialist function
  • \n
  • Strong understanding of international planning, legal, and regulatory frameworks as they apply to real estate
  • \n
  • Experience managing both direct (in-house) and indirect (third-party) asset management structures
  • \n
  • Financially literate with experience reading and challenging asset-level financial models
  • \n
  • Strong communicator, able to operate across different cultures, legal systems, and professional norms
  • \n
