This is an excellent opportunity for someone with environmental management experience within construction who is looking to develop their career on a complex and high-profile project.Working closely with the Environmental Manager and wider project team, youll play a key role in ensuring environmental compliance, promoting sustainable practices, and supporting the delivery of environmental objectives across the site.This is a temporary-to-permanent position offering long-term career opportunities for the right candidate.The RoleAs Environmental Advisor, youll provide technical environmental support to project teams, helping to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, client requirements, and company standards. Youll also assist in driving sustainability initiatives, supporting carbon reduction, biodiversity, waste management and wider environmental improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the implementation and maintenance of the projects Environmental Management System (EMS).Provide environmental advice to site and design teams.Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits and client requirements.Carry out environmental audits, inspections and site monitoring.Deliver environmental training and toolbox talks.Assist with incident investigations and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Produce environmental reports, KPI data and inspection records.Support sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction and environmental innovation.Attend client meetings and liaise with key stakeholders where required.Promote environmental best practice across the project.What Were Looking ForAt least 1 years experience in an environmental role within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure.Membership of, or working towards membership with, a recognised professional body such as IEMA, CIWEM or CIWM.Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.Experience assessing environmental aspects and implementing effective environmental controls.Understanding of UK environmental legislation and compliance requirements.Knowledge of environmental topics such as:Ecology and biodiversityAir qualityNoise and vibrationWater managementWaste and materialsClimate change and carbon reductionStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.A proactive approach with excellent organisational skills.Full UK Driving Licence.Why Apply?Temporary to permanent opportunity.Work on a major, long-term infrastructure project.Excellent career development and progression opportunities.Be part of a collaborative and supportive project team.Competitive salary and long-term prospects.Opportunity to make a real impact on environmental performance and sustainability.If youre passionate about environmental management and sustainability and want to take the next step in your career, wed love to hear from you.
