Mechanical Design Engineer

Role: Mechanical Design Engineer (Contract)Employment: ContractDuration: 12 MonthsLocation: WolverhamptonRates: £55 - £60hr (Inisde IR35)THE ROLE - Mechanical Design EngineerDue to impressive project and program wins, we are seeking to recruit Mechanical Design Engineers to support our client's aerospace engineering operations.You'll need to have strong experience in both conceptual design and detailed drawing of components and assemblies, with experience in aerospace deemed highly valuable.This is an Inside IR35 position that will require on site working due to the nature of the work.DUTIES - Mechanical Design EngineerDesign and develop mechanical components and assembliesCreate accurate technical drawings and 3D CAD models.Apply GD&T and perform tolerance analysisParticipate in DFMEA and risk identification activities.Present design concepts, progress updates and final designs to customers.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure viable manufacturability.Support prototype build, testing and troubleshootingGenerate and maintain design documentationParticipate in design reviews, risk assessments and CI activities.BACKGROUND - Mechanical Design EngineerBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or HNC/HNDRotating equipment design exposure.Proficiency in producing technical drawings and specifications.Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack?ups.Experience with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX preferred)Experience with PLM/PDM systems (Teamcenter preferred).OMEGAFor more information on this role, please contact Lee Powell on 01453 829530 or send a copy of your CV toCandidates who are currently a Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, Mechanical Designer, Senior Engineer, CAD Engineer, Aerospace Engineer, Component Engineer, Project Design Engineer or similar may be suitable.For details of other opportunities available within your chosen field please visit our websiteOmega is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
