Job Description

Finishing OperatorJOB PURPOSEThe key objective of the Finishing Operator role is to ensure that production is in line with schedule and produced in a safe and efficient manner.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Ensuring that all work undertaken is carried out in a safe and proper mannerEnsuring that safety checks are carried out at the beginning of each shiftEnsuring that the order is set up correctly at the beginning of every shift and at the start of every new orderManaging your machine to produce products of the correct quality at an acceptable level of outputEnsuring that all written documentation is updated with the correct legible information at the specified frequenciesRecording production data on the electronic data capture systemTaking appropriate action to troubleshoot and/or highlight problems when necessaryConducting quality checks at the specified frequenciesAssisting maintenance when requiredIdentifying and recommending areas for improvementParticipating in improvement projectsEnsure that safe working practices are adhered to at all times, including wearing PPE as appropriate.Acquire knowledge of Health & Safety procedures, work instructions, and associated documentation.Comply with all Health & Safety Policies and instructions and actively contribute to Company efforts to promote safe behaviour and safe systems of workMaximising productivity by assisting with machine set-ups and minimising machine downtime by assisting with roll changes, break cover, batch close out, etcTECHNICAL Safety and accident statistics within the Finishing department remain at an acceptable level target zero.Quality and hygiene issues are highlighted, and dealt with appropriately ANS & MRFs, customer complaints (internal & external), hygiene audits satisfactory.Area targets and objectives are met - safety, quality, hygiene, waste, productivity, utilisation and costs.Temporary fixes on machinery are highlighted, and long-term solutions found.Accurate generation and of shift production dataDaily log sheet/book is completed, and all problems and issues are recorded, and where appropriate, action taken.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Good organisational and time management skillsStrong communication skillsFlexibility on working hours to meet business demandsDecision making;Team orientated;Communication and presentation skillsOrganised.BENEFITS25 days paid holidays plus 8 public bank holidaysEnhanced company sick payEmployer defined pension contributions of either 6% or 8%Cycle to work scheme24/7 access to Employee Assistance ProgrammeLong service awardsFree parking on siteABOUT AMCOR FLEXIBLES EUROPE, MIDDLE EAST & AFRICA (AFEMEA)Amcor Limited is a global leader in responsible packaging solutions, focusing on a broad range of flexible and rigid plastic packaging that enhances the products consumers use in everyday life, with 95 percent of its sales into the food, beverage, healthcare and tobacco industries.The company employs more than 31,000 people worldwide, operating in 40-plus countries and across more than 190 sites.With 62 plants in 18 countries, Amcor Flexibles Europe, Middle East and Africa (AFEMEA), a division of Amcor, is a market leader and the world's largest supplier of flexible packaging.
