Job Description
Engineering PlannerBlunham (Onsite)We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Engineering Planner to join our team at our Blunham site. This is a pivotal role within the engineering function, responsible for ensuring all maintenance and engineering activities are effectively planned, scheduled, and executed to the highest standards. Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Engineering Team Leadeer you will play a key role in driving efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement across the site.Role responsibilities:Develop, implement, and continuously improve maintenance plans and schedulesCoordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and corrective workPrioritise tasks in line with operational needs and business objectivesPlan and allocate labour, materials, tools, and equipment effectivelyLiaise with stores and procurement to ensure parts availabilityTrack progress against plans, identifying gaps and driving corrective actionsValidate completion of work orders, ensuring accurate documentation and closureEnsure all work is carried out safely and in line with site standardsIdentify risks to production and engineering activities and implement mitigation plansAnalyse data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunitiesProduce reports on performance, progress, and key metricsAct as a key link between engineering, operations, and external contractorsPlan and coordinate contractor activities, ensuring compliance with site requirementsWhat we would like to see:We are looking for someone who is organised, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Previous experience in an engineering or maintenance planning roleStrong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detailAbility to analyse data and make informed decisionsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalExperience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholdersExperience using SAP PM or a similar maintenance management system (desirable)Knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning methodologies (desirable)Experience within manufacturing, packaging, or FMCG environments (desirable)What we can offer you:Competitive salaryQualifying Sick Pay schemePension scheme & Life insuranceShare Save schemeIncome Protection25 days holiday plus Bank HolidaysEmployee Assistance ProgrammeVirtual GP, Occupational Health & free Flu vaccineCycle to Work and shopping discountsWe are DS Smith, together with International Paper, we are a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions and other fibre-based products.We believe a better, more sustainable tomorrow is possible with the right people, who challenge and support one another to enact positive change.
