Teamwork Partnership is recruiting on behalf of a leading international logistics provider for an experienced Imports Business Administrator to join their Road & Rail Operations team in Lichfield .This is an excellent opportunity for someone with freight forwarding or transport operations experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and is looking to develop their career with a global organisation. The role focuses on managing European import shipments, customs processes, customer relationships, and operational excellence.The RoleAs a Road & Rail Import Operator, you will manage daily import groupage movements across European road and rail networks, ensuring shipments are processed accurately, customs requirements are met, and exceptional customer service is delivered.You'll work closely with international partners, customers, transport providers and internal departments to ensure freight moves efficiently while identifying opportunities to improve service and generate additional revenue.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day European road and rail import operations.Liaise with international partners, customers and transport providers.Process operational documentation and EDI information accurately.Monitor customs entries and ensure import compliance.Check shipment documentation and resolve discrepancies.Produce unload reports and manage damaged or excess freight.Maintain accurate operational records and filing systems.Build strong customer relationships and resolve operational issues.Identify opportunities for additional revenue and business development.Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain ISO quality standards.Provide support across other operational departments when required.What We're Looking ForPrevious experience within road freight, freight forwarding or transport operations.Experience in a customer-facing logistics environment.Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Good geographical knowledge of the UK and European transport networks.Competent with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.Customs knowledge would be highly advantageous.A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and support colleagues.What's on OfferCompetitive salary (depending on experience)Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm33 days holiday (including Bank Holidays)Benefits:Casual dressFree parkingOn-site parkingWork Location: In personTPBN1_UKTJ
