Financial Controller
Natalie Wells Recruitment
Norton, ENG, GB
Full Time
Job Description
This is not a role for someone who needs everything neatly packaged before they can make progress. You're joining a c.£300m turnover business growing at serious pace. Acquisitions have already changed its shape. More are coming. Under new private equity ownership, the expectation is clear: Finance must move faster, operate better and be ready for what comes next. That's where you come in.You'll work alongside the FD to rebuild reporting, strengthen controls and replace over-engineered spreadsheets with models people can understand, trust and use.But don't mistake 'transformation' for standing at the front of a meeting with a slide deck. You'll be in the detail. Some days, you'll be buried in Excel. Other days, you'll be deciding what matters, what can wait and what needs fixing immediately. You'll need to separate genuine priorities from background noise, and keep moving when the workload intensifies. The team will look to you for direction. They need a leader who remains composed under pressure, communicates clearly and raises standards without creating chaos or inducing anxiety. Someone resilient enough to absorb the pressure, decisive enough to maintain momentum and credible enough to bring people with them. You'll be a qualified Financial Controller with evidence of delivering hands-on change in a complex, fast-moving business. Advanced Excel skills are essential; Power BI would strengthen your application. You may be in a permanent role that's lacking momentum, or have completed a change project and are looking for another. Equally, you may have been thriving in the interim market, used to the challenges that come with delivering month-end whilst simultaneously taking the finance function through change. This could be your opportunity to enjoy the security of a permanent role with prospects without losing the variety and pace that you've enjoyed in the interim market. The package: salary up to £90,000, bonus potential 30%, £10,000 car allowance, pension up to 15% and 25 days' holiday.Ready to build a finance function capable of keeping pace?Send me your CV or message me for a confidential conversation.TPBN1_UKTJ
