Mechanical Design EngineerLocation: Irlam, ManchesterJob Type: PermanentWorking Pattern: Hybrid working availableSalary: £35,000 to £45,000, dependent on experienceBenefits for Mechanical Design EngineerHybrid working availableTraining and career progressionExposure to robotics, machine vision and turnkey automation systemsOpportunity to work on bespoke machinery projectsIntroduction for Mechanical Design EngineerIndustrial Connected Talent is supporting a bespoke automation machinery builder in the search for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their automation engineering team.This role will involve designing bespoke automation equipment, robotic systems and turnkey machinery, taking projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.Responsibilities for Mechanical Design EngineerAs Mechanical Design Engineer, you will produce mechanical designs, 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for bespoke automation projects. You will work closely with controls, manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure designs are practical, safe and suitable for customer requirements.Produce 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, BOMs and design documentationSupport concept development for automation machinery and sales projectsEnsure designs consider safety, manufacturability, cost and CE / UKCA requirementsContribute to design reviews and continuous improvementLiaise with controls, manufacturing and assembly teamsVisit customer sites when required to support requirements gathering or validationRequirements for Mechanical Design EngineerThe ideal candidate will have mechanical design experience within automation, machinery or manufacturing equipment. You should be confident using 3D CAD software and producing accurate engineering drawings.2+ years mechanical design experience within automation, machinery or manufacturingProficiency with SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD softwareAbility to produce accurate 2D engineering drawings and documentationUnderstanding of tolerances, materials and manufacturing processesDegree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar would be beneficialExperience with drives, pneumatics, robotics, PDM systems or BOM management would be advantageousTPBN1_UKTJ
