PIPEFITTERLocation: South West / North DevonEmployment type: Long-term PAYE opportunityIndustry: Marine, defence and heavy engineeringPay and allowances£24.88 per hour PAYE£37.32 per hour overtime after 40 hours per week£33.09 per hour for night shifts£400 weekly travel and lodge allowanceEstimated gross weekly earnings45-hour day shift: £1,581.80 per week67-hour day shift: £2,402.84 per week45-hour night shift: £1,910.20 per week67-hour night shift: £2,731.24 per weekThe estimated weekly figures include the £400 travel and lodge allowance and are subject to the hours and shifts worked.We are looking to speak with experienced Pipefitters for upcoming long-term engineering work in the South West.This opportunity would suit Pipefitters with experience in marine, defence, dockyard, shipbuilding, ship repair, industrial pipework or heavy engineering environments. The South West has a strong long-term marine and defence engineering market, including major dockyard and infrastructure activity around Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth.The work is expected to suit experienced tradespeople who are comfortable working on large-scale engineering programmes where safety, accuracy and quality are essential.Key dutiesFabricating, assembling and installing pipework systemsWorking from piping isometrics, engineering drawings and specificationsMeasuring, cutting, preparing and fitting pipe and associated componentsInstalling valves, flanges, supports, brackets and pipe fittingsCarrying out pipe alignment and fit-up before weldingBolting and torquing mechanical joints and flange connectionsSupporting pressure testing, leak testing and system commissioningIdentifying and correcting alignment or installation issuesWorking closely with welders, mechanical fitters and production teamsFollowing site safety, quality and permit proceduresExperience requiredStrong pipefitting experienceExperience in marine, defence, dockyard, shipbuilding, ship repair or heavy engineering environmentsAbility to read and interpret piping isometrics and engineering drawingsExperience fabricating and installing carbon steel or stainless-steel pipeworkConfidence working with valves, flanges, supports and mechanical jointsExperience with flange management or mechanical joint integrity would be beneficialRelevant apprenticeship, NVQ or equivalent trade qualification would be advantageousAbility to work independently and as part of a wider engineering teamThis is a long-term PAYE opportunity, with further details available once suitability has been confirmed.To apply, please send your CV along with details of your pipefitting experience, current location and availability.TPBN1_UKTJ
