HR AdministratorSalary: £22,000 per annumClosing Date: Friday 31 July 2026This role is for someone who can keep HR administration accurate, confidential and timely across Eastbourne College and St Andrews Prep. You will manage staff records, leave and sickness logging, DBS and occupational health checks, and support appraisal processes providing a professional first impression of the Bursary team and enabling the wider school to run smoothly.What you'll be doingRecord and maintain annual leave requests and sickness absences accurately.Issue, collect and file staff appraisal documentation and other personnel records.Maintain daily filing of HR documentation in personnel files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.Progress DBS checks and issue occupational health pre-employment medical links.Draft routine employment-related correspondence and provide administrative support for HR projects.Support the HR and payroll team in day-to-day tasks and give a professional, courteous impression to staff and external contacts.Carry out any other administrative duties required to support the HR function.What we're looking forEssentialStrong administration experience with confident use of Microsoft Office, including Teams.Excellent attention to detail and an organised approach to record keeping.Clear and confident communicator on the telephone and in writing.DesirableFamiliarity with working in schools.Previous experience in an HR environment.If you enjoy routine and project work in equal measure, have a careful approach to confidential records, and can work within a small HR team, this role will suit you.About the team or departmentThe role sits in the Bursary at Eastbourne College on Old Wish Road, Eastbourne, working alongside HR and payroll colleagues who provide administrative and people services across Eastbourne College and St Andrews Prep. The team provides the first point of contact for staff HR queries and supports the College's employment processes.What we offer30 hours per week, all year round (normally 8.30am3.00pm, MondayFriday, with a 30-minute unpaid break).
