Based in Erdington, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable, close-knit business where you can take real ownership of the day-to-day finance function.Your new roleReporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in managing the day-to-day finances of one arm of the business, allowing senior leadership to focus on strategic growth.This is a varied and practical role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in an SME environment and being involved across all aspects of finance.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction of monthly management accounts with analysisFull responsibility for A-Z accountsVAT returns and HMRC complianceOverseeing day-to-day bookkeeping activitiesManaging sales and purchase ledgerProcessing payment runs and managing cash flowBank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliationsPayroll processing (in-house)Supporting budgeting and forecastingStock and inventory accountingCredit control and aged debt managementSupporting year-end processes and liaising with external accountantsEnsuring financial controls and processes are maintained and improvedWhat you'll need to succeedExperience in a similar Finance Manager / Company Accountant roleStrong all-round accounting knowledge (AAT / part-qualified / QBE considered)Comfortable working in a hands-on SME environmentExperience with VAT, payroll, and management accountsStrong attention to detail and organisational skillsConfident communicator who can work closely with senior stakeholdersWhat you'll get in return£40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience23 days holiday + birthday + bank holidaysOffice-based role with potential for 1 day WFH after probationVaried role with real ownership and autonomySupportive and friendly working environmentIf you're looking for a broad and impactful role within a growing SME, we'd love to hear from you.
