Quality ManagerLocation: Uckfield, East SussexSalary: Up to £40,000 (depending on experience)Job Type: Full-time | PermanentHours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch)An exciting opportunity with a well-established food manufacturing business.Our client is a successful and growing food manufacturing business based in Uckfield, East Sussex. They are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Manager to lead their quality function and ensure the highest standards of food safety, product quality and regulatory compliance.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that places quality at the heart of its operations and offers genuine opportunities for professional development.The RoleAs Quality Manager, you will take ownership of the site's Quality Management System (QMS) and lead the day-to-day activities of the quality department.Key responsibilities include:Maintaining and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS)Managing compliance with BRCGS, RSPO, retailer and other relevant standardsLeading internal and external auditsHosting customer and third-party auditor visitsInvestigating customer complaints and implementing corrective actionsManaging non-conformances and continuous improvement activitiesReviewing and maintaining product specificationsCarrying out internal and hygiene auditsOverseeing environmental swabbing and product testing programmesDelivering quality and food safety training to production and office teamsProducing monthly quality reports and identifying performance trendsWorking closely with senior management to maintain compliance and drive quality improvementsAbout YouWe're looking for an experienced quality professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Essential skills and experience:Previous experience as a Quality Manager or in a similar technical role within food manufacturingStrong knowledge of BRCGS, GMP and food safety management systemsExperience managing external auditsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong organisational skills with excellent attention to detailProficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and WordA proactive, flexible and hands-on approachDesirable:Level 3 HACCP qualificationLevel 3 Food Safety qualificationPrevious experience within a co-packing or food manufacturing environmentKnowledge of RSPO standardsWhat's on OfferSalary up to £40,000 , depending on experienceCompany partnership and bonus scheme24 days annual leave plus bank holidaysCompany pensionOngoing training and career developmentSupportive and collaborative working environmentMonday to Friday working hours - no weekend shiftsInterested?If you're looking for your next challenge within food manufacturing and want to join a business that is committed to quality and continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today with your up-to-date CV.
