Job: Addiction Counsellor - Mews House residential teamPlace of work: 11 Kendrick Mews, SW7 3HGHours of work: Part time - 4 days per weekCompensation: CompetitiveLeave: 20 days plus Bank HolidaysAbout the RoleAre you an experienced Addiction Counsellor with a passion for innovative, evidence-based treatments for individuals with addiction and related conditions? Mews House has an exciting opportunity for an Addiction Counsellor to join our residential treatment service.The post holder will play a key role in delivering high-quality, client-centred care for individuals with substance misuse and addictive behaviours. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate care, ensuring safe clinical practice, adherence to treatment approaches and a compassionate therapeutic experience. You will also contribute to service development and clinical governance.Who Were Looking ForYou will be an experienced Addiction Counsellor with a strong background in addiction treatment servicesYou will have significant experience within residential, secondary or structured treatment settingsYou will have a strong understanding of addiction, relapse prevention and related psychological conditionsYou will be confident in delivering group therapy, individual therapy and psychoeducational workshopsYou will be confident in delivering care that requires close therapeutic engagement and risk awarenessYou will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including external stakeholdersYou will actively participate in care planning discussions and ensure care plans are reviewed, updated and actionedYou will provide effective liaison with families and deliver conjoint sessions where requiredAbove all, you will be compassionate, resilient and dedicated to supporting clients through recovery pathwaysRequirementsThe following skills and qualifications are essential:Relevant qualification in counselling, psychotherapy or addiction treatmentStrong knowledge of addiction models and recovery frameworksEvidence of significant post-qualification clinical experienceExperience facilitating group therapy and delivering individual counsellingExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong interpersonal and risk management skillsAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary teamUp-to-date knowledge of current practice and addiction-related issuesAwareness of clinical governance and safe practice standardsGood organisational skills and attention to detailComputer literacy and accurate clinical documentationAbility to participate in an on-call rotaStrongly desirable qualities include:Experience working within a residential or secondary treatment serviceExperience delivering family work, including conjoint sessionsEvidence of involvement in service development, audit or clinical governanceA strong interest in ongoing professional development and/or private practiceThank you so much for taking the time to apply.
